Up until about fifty years ago, most people cared deeply about where their things came from and invested in higher-quality items that would last. We were more connected to what we purchased, to what we surrounded ourselves with, to who made things, and how they were made. Our relationship with what was valuable and why was different back then.
Our Pursuit

However, over the last half-century, our culture has trained consumers to prioritize low cost and convenience; longevity has fallen out of fashion in the pursuit of “newness.” This prioritization of cost and convenience has affected the quality of products in both public and private spaces.
Furniture doesn’t become obsolete due to technological leaps. If well-made, it can last several lifetimes.
Fyrn’s work— the pursuit of true craftsmanship at scale— is hope in action; a north star for shifting the way we think, act, and consume, encouraging us to be more intentional about the things we bring into our lives.
At Fyrn, we are guided by three core beliefs.
First, that Good Design Considers Future Circumstances: Circumstances of our products, end-user/clients, and planet.
Next, that the Method of Making Matters: As proud as we are of what we make, we believe that how we make it truly distinguishes us.
Finally, that quality craftsmanship is enduring: Grounded in a multi-generational legacy of expertise, we honor materials and tradition, while creating solutions with today’s tools.
